Gallant Highlanders stumble

13/08/2008 10:36:00 AM
A SLOW start allowed the Moree Bulls to get one over the Inverell Highlanders on Saturday.

The match, at Weebollabolla Oval, proved to be tough for the Highlanders and at half time the Bulls lead 33-10.

Team manager James de Dassel said the boys had made some stupid errors, which the Bulls were able to capitalise on.

"We ended up getting back on track and came close to the fight with the scoreboard 45-38 and 10 minutes to go.

"But the Bulls took a try from one of our blow outs and that sealed the game for them.

De Dassel said the forwards showed their strength during the match.

"Dan Sargeant, Simon Dunlop and Fergus McIntosh all put in a strong game but we really missed our injured players Dave Kearsey, Tala Vea and Mat Flanagan.

"This weekend we will be hoping to get back on track when we play Narrabri at Rugby Park."
