IN a similar light to the State of Origin, the Tingha Tigers and Inverell Hawks face their decider of the Group 19 season before final fever starts.
It is a one-all draw at the moment, with the Tigers winning the first game and the Hawks taking the second.
Tomorrow's match at the Tingha Sport and Recreation Ground will be a tough battle.
The Tigers know this game is crucial - especially because it is going to decide whether they place second or third on the ladder.
Coach Nathan Blacklock said it would be tough.
"The Hawks are improving each week but we are still a form side," he said.
"It is our last home game for the normal season and we will be putting up a fight to win it.
"We will be working hard in the forwards and the backs will need to get out there more than last time.
"Our main concern is that a lot of the boys haven't been turning up to training which means we haven't been able to have a proper run before each game.
"Hopefully we will be able to get back on track and fix what we are lacking.
"We have only lost four games this season, so we are going okay, but now we need to get the winning feeling back before the end of the season.
"The boys know how important this game is and hopefully we can make it a win."
Meanwhile, the Hawks went on a scoring rampage against the Warialda Wombats last weekend and are keen to do that again.
With a full strength team, minus forward Tommy Motuapuaka and centre Sam White, the Hawks want to win this match.
Publicity officer Mick Lewis said they were in with a chance.
"Tingha gave us a fair flogging when we played them there last time but hopefully we can turn that around.
"We got them on our home ground, so we can beat them.
"The local derby is always intense and they will be at their best form and they always are when Inverell are involved.
"We really have to work on our forward dominance and controlling the ruck.
"We need to shut them down so they can't get close to their line."
Lewis said he was expecting this game to be a dress rehearsal to the minor final.
"It just depends on what happens but it is an important game for us," he said.
Meanwhile, the Hawks have forfeited their reserves grade team due to injuries, much to the disappointment of Tigers secretary Chris Curtin “We are not really impressed," he said.
The U-18s kick off at 1pm and first grade starts at 2.30pm.
