FORMER Inverell resident Rachael Cleave (pictured right) has been selected to play touch football for Australia in the World Cup at Scotland in 2011.
Cleave was chosen for a training squad by Touch Football Australia after nationals where Cleave was playing for the Sydney Scorpians.
Cleave has already attended a three-day training camp at the Narrabeen Academy of Sport and will attend test matches against New Zealand before attending the World Cup.
At the moment, Cleave plays in a Sydney premier representative open women division for Manly.
Cleave is the daughter of Melinda and Glenn Cox of Inverell.
When Cleave lived in Inverell she was a school captain at Macintyre High and played representative touch football.
She is now working in the Northern Suburbs as an Ambulance officer and also competes in half marathons.
