Championships a success

Inverell RSM Pistol Club hosted the North East West Zone Championships on the weekend.

Secretary Phillip DeFraine said the shoot was held with great success with only a few teething problems.

“All shooters enjoyed the weekend,” he said.

“It was only due to the hard work of the dedicated members that the shoot went so well and visiting range officers, Wayne Unicomb (zone president), Rick Bowen (zone secretary) and Jan Bowen from Glen Innes Pistol Club who conducted the matches without a hitch.

The winners of the Women’s 25m Pistol event were Manilla’s Amanda Graham (A), Moree’s Kristy Gardner (B), Margaret Mitchell of Glen Innes (C) and Inverell’s Kathleen Irwin (D).

In the Air Pistol event, first went to Narrabri’s Graham Smith (A), Inverell’s Philip Irwin (B), Chris Jeffrey of Collarenebri (C) and Mel Jurgensen of Warwick (D).
